Progress on Laminex project

Smart planning, collaboration, and hard work have seen our team nearing completion of the earthworks and reinforced concrete works on the Laminex Orientated Strand Board (OSB) facility being built in Taupō.

Project Manager Mark Seymour said a recent team BBQ celebrated pouring 1,000m3 of concrete and fixing 200t of reo within a month.

“The large, reinforced press pit, which has 800mm floors, 1100mm walls and an array of complex recessed pockets, is close to completion,” Mark says. “The blending tower, switch room 2, and forming line are not far behind.”

By the end of the project the team will have poured over 3000m3 of structural concrete, 1300m3 of low strength 3MPa Flowable Fill, and placed and fixed nearly 500T of reinforcing.

Mark says the client is “very positive about the progress, the cleanliness of the site, our safety record, and the quality of work being delivered by the team”.

The team includes Corban Baker, Farhan Bhadki, Hika Kume, Steve Doms, Reagan Huriwai, Andy Fawcett, Harley Beckham, Jo Brereton, Brock Sowry, Brett Cookson, Shawn Beckham, Alex Oakley, Jan Swart, and Tu Mea.
