BPC has night of success at Civil Contractors NZ awards

We are very proud of BPC’s success in both the people and project categories at the Waikato Civil Contractors New Zealand (CCNZ) Awards.

Geotech engineer Natasha Jokhan was awarded Engineer of the Year, recognising the huge contribution she’s made on major projects in the region. Natasha looks after the assessment, design, and execution of complex temporary works for BPC and Fletcher Construction, and works closely with BPC’s ground engineering team on research to develop improvements in foundations and ground improvement technologies. Natasha has a passion for innovation, implementing safe best practice solutions, and sharing knowledge.

It was a night to remember for Paddy Raureti, who won Apprentice of the Year. He had a very good reason for not being to accept his award on the night - he was with his partner Andrea awaiting the safe arrival of their new daughter. Paddy, who has been part of the BPC team for the past four years, enjoys the variety of work, the training and leadership opportunities he’s been given, and the great bonds he’s developed with his teammates.

The Parallel Road Water Treatment Plant was winner of the Category 3 – Projects $5-$20m award, testament to the dedication of Andrew Richards and the team who delivered the project to a tight timeline despite the imposition of the initial Covid-19 lockdown. The Waipa District Council project was designed to increase water supply demand in the region and future-proof the water supply against projected population growth. The BPC team’s effective management of subcontractors to deliver to a high standard on time and to budget was praised, along with their dedication to safety.
