Pump Station excavation underway
BPC’s pilers have completed their work on the Taranaki Street Pump Station in central Wellington and excavation is now getting underway. The first stage will go to 5m below ground, where a structural ring beam and shotcrete wall will be installed to the inside of the piles. The dig then goes a further 4m deep to install the floor.
In the coming month, the crew will also install some excavation shoring on the Taranaki Street side of the site, to allow the pump station outlet pipe to be installed.
