PipeWorks expertise delivers

PipeWorks brought their expertise to Lower Hutt to rehabilitate a critical section of wastewater pipeline along State Highway 2 (SH2) over the Easter break. While most people enjoyed time off, PipeWorks’ crews worked 24/7 through some challenging weather to deliver the project for Wellington Water in a tight two-week period.

PipeWorks’ experience and specialist equipment were called on to prevent an aging pipe from failing and causing significant environmental and public health concerns. Four separate liners were installed and cured, with over-pumping employed to keep the wastewater network flowing while the lining works were carried out.

With one lane of SH2 having to be closed to deliver the project, the impact on the public was minimised by doing the work during the school holidays when traffic flows are lighter. Public feedback was positive about this as well as the project’s on-time completion.
