Central Region team supports Parentline charity

BPC’s Central Region team demonstrated our Better Together value by delivering a makeover to charity Parentline’s community centre in Hamilton.

Over 60 team members got stuck in, with Mico New Zealand Limited, PlaceMakers, Firth Industries, Hirepool, and Porter Group CE donating supplies.

The crew painted therapy rooms, repaired walls, fitted shelves, removed rotten trees, laid concrete, erected fencing, improved safety, cleaned second-storey gutters, replaced a bathroom vanity, and upgraded the reception area. Everyone was well fed, with the Parentline team providing scones, fried bread and a big boil-up for lunch.

Parentline Chief Executive Sue Hardley was grateful to BPC’s team and all the suppliers. “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” she said. “Please make sure all your team know how special they are, and what a difference they have made.”

Parentline works with children traumatised by abuse and domestic violence, providing advice and support to parents and caregivers, and counselling for children with challenging behaviours at school.
