Building communities

BPC’s Central Region team members turned out in force to deliver a major upgrade for the Vincent House Trust, a residential mental health and addiction service in Te Puke. It’s part of BPC’s commitment to caring for the communities in which we work around Aotearoa New Zealand and reflects founder Brian Perry’s mantra to “work hard, play hard, and be a good community citizen”.

Building on their earlier work to address a long standing drainage issue causing the charity’s warehouse to flood, over 60 Central team members brought their expertise and energy to refurbish one of the trust’s properties. They painted a four-bedroom house and garages, inside and out, installed a new kitchen, built a fence, and planted trees around the property, achieving a total transformation.

The original homestead, gifted to the charity many years ago, is now back in excellent condition and ready to benefit the Te Puke community.

Thanks to Hirepool, Humes, Higgins, and Placemakers for donating materials, equipment, and services, and to Porter Hire for providing a BBQ lunch to keep the team going.
