Foundations
BPC has built a reputation as a leader in the New Zealand piling market since 1973, with experience evolving from temporary shoring to deep pipeline excavations.
Piling applications include foundations and retention works for high rise buildings across all sectors, heavy industrial plant, bridging and marine structures, pump stations, and pipelines.
We operate across a wide range of ground conditions throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific – from deep alluvial gravels and silts to the complex geology of Auckland’s volcanic region.
Our experienced and professional team are regularly approached for ECI input at the pre-construction stage to assist with technical solutions and innovative methods for demanding foundation applications.
We self-perform foundations scopes of work, backed by our inhouse Engineering Services team. Strong relationships with New Zealand’s leading geotechnical consultants add to our technical capability. Our full bentonite set up, with a number of desanders and holdings tanks, means that whatever the challenge, we have the equipment, the personnel, and the know-how to deliver.
A fleet fit for challenging ground conditions
Our specialised fleet and trained operators provide a variety of solutions to match the specific challenge.
Our extensive fleet includes heavy duty, high line pull, tracked cranes from 30 to 250 tonnes capacity, with a spread of leaders and attachments. Our modern piling hammer range includes hydraulic impact hammers, and variable high frequency hydraulic vibro hammers. With our PTC HFV Vibro, we can monitor sensitive neighbouring buildings and automatically adjust output accordingly to protect the built environment.
We operate a range of sophisticated hydraulic drill rigs, well proven in New Zealand’s toughest conditions and offering superior production rates in a multitude of applications and conditions.
Rig weight ranges from 30 to 75 tonnes with drilling diameters up to 4m and depths to 80m.
Low headroom rigs capable of drilling 1.2m diameter to 24m depth are available. Crane mount rotary rigs with drilling diameters up to 2.5m and depths to 58m deliver reliable production and provide the flexibility to allow the crane fleet to be used in both piling and handling modes.
Our crane mounted rigs are capable of up to 16m radius and 10m of height.
We operate a range of Diaphragm wall grabs with ranges of 600mm, 800mm 1000mm and 1200mm widths.
In our marine division we operate a range of vessels to enable us to carry out complex marine projects. We have several jack-up and floating barges to assist our foundation teams.
