Ōmokoroa achievement
BPC’s Central Region team delivered the Ōmokoroa Water Treatment Plant seven weeks ahead of schedule for client Western Bay of Plenty District Council. Commissioning of the plant, which will support significant population growth in the area, was completed early last month.
Project Manager Mark Seymour put the project’s success down to the team’s “awesome work”. He said the base slab pour for the 3.4m litre reservoir involved 145cum 50mpa with Xypex (water proofing agent) concrete. “Following the pour the precast reservoir walls were installed – 8.5m high and up to 18t each.”
Stakeholder engagement was an important part of the team’s successful approach, with strong relationships built with local residents and others involved from the start of the works.
