Piletech takes test loading lead

Piletech’s newly modified static pile load testing system is delivering increased accuracy and easier access for clients around the country.

Developed by Project Engineer James Welsh with support from BPC’s Engineering Services, the new system uses a simplified two-beam cross configuration rather than the traditional Piletech seven beams assembled on site.

“This significantly reduces the number of components, connections, and setup steps required, while maintaining performance for 400t load testing,” James says. “In addition, the system has been adapted to allow a 100t configuration using a single beam, increasing flexibility and enabling a broader range of applications.”

Measurement accuracy has been improved because the new setup improves access and visibility, allowing a transition to dial gauge measurement systems. “This represents a clear improvement in the quality and reliability of testing data,” James says.

Piletech has established 400t operational test setups in the North and South Islands, enhancing capability and providing a competitive advantage through reduced mobilisation cost. Piletech also has a 600t setup based in Auckland for larger scale testing.
