BPC’s crew has constructed and installed the bridge deck soffit falsework for the Kaitoke Pipe Bridge.

Nine 2,000kg panels were pre-fabricated on site and lifted down to the scaffold platform next to the new bridge. Project Manager Jack Gillard says the team then slid the panels underneath the bridge using load skates.

“Once underneath the bridge, the panels were picked up by the tower crane and carefully lifted out into position using a spreader beam lifting frame self-designed by the site team. The entire bridge was decked out in only a few days.”

The bridge is being constructed for Wellington Water Ltd.
