Crane Awards 2025 BPC finalists

We’re proud that three BPC projects have been selected as finalists in the Lift of the Year category in the Crane Association of New Zealand Awards 2025. The awards recognise excellence and innovation in New Zealand’s crane industry.

The three projects cover areas in which BPC specialises – bridges, wharves, and complex operations from our barge fleet. Smart thinking, meticulous planning, and top teamwork were at the heart of each successful lift.

On our Whakawhirinaki Silverstream Pipe Bridge project, a massive 100 metre long, 160 tonne central arched steel bridge span was lifted into place across the Hutt River by a 500 tonne crane. Two of BPC’s jack up barges were used to transport and support the precise installation of the 56 concrete pyramids in Wellington harbour we constructed to form Te Ara Tupua artificial reef (pictured). For the Seaview Wharf Renewal project we constructed 70 tonne soffits in our Otaihanga precast yard, transported them by road to our harbour site, then on to the barge from which they were installed.
