Backing Cambridge's growth
BPC’s team are making good progress building a stormwater structure on the Waikato River to support the forecast need for 13,000 new houses in Cambridge by 2050. The outfall structure is being built for the Waipa District Council to take stormwater from future developments.
Construction Manager Eamon Stynes says the base of the cofferdam is just over 7m below the ground on three sides after the team created an earth dam between the sheet pile walls. “The fourth side is holding back the Waikato River 6m above the base.”
