A million safe hours
We’re proud to share a major milestone on the Taxiway Mike project: over 1 million hours worked without a lost time injury.
We are delivering the project on behalf of our customer Auckland International Airport. It’s seen our team busy constructing a new taxiway and extending an existing one, ultimately linking the current runway with a planned second runway.
At peak, we’ve had up to 500 people on site. Through positive leadership and a strong reporting culture, we’ve built an environment where safety is everyone’s responsibility which has allowed us to reach this milestone. Our subcontractors – Higgins, Ross Reid, and TDM – have been key partners in building this culture.
Project Director David McGoey says the milestone is about more than just numbers. “It’s about the people who’ve made it possible – those who’ve spoken up, looked out for each other, and consistently done the right thing. That’s what makes this team exceptional.”
