Supporting success
Construction Worker Tiana Samuels is thriving with BPC, picking up new skills and learning about the many opportunities an infrastructure career offers.
Tiana joined BPC in April through the Ara Auckland Airport Jobs & Skills programme, which supports young Māori and Pasifika people in South Auckland into local jobs.
While she had worked with her father in his scaffolding business, Tiana’s BPC role is her first permanent job.
BPC is proud to support the Ara programme, engaging with young people, educating them about the wide range of roles available in our industry, and hosting visits to our Auckland Airport project sites. Tiana is one of two new employees we’ve taken on this year through the programme.
Completing Wheels, Tracks & Rollers certification is one of Tiana’s goals, as well as pursuing environmental studies, and both are included in her development programme.
Tiana is enjoying learning new skills and being part of the BPC team. “The support of the BPC team has helped me to gain more knowledge and understanding of the opportunities in the industry,” she says.
