Construction of a large diameter stormwater pipeline and associated structures including wellpointing, pipe jacking and traffic management in a busy roadway, serving a busy industrial area. The construction consists of 1210m of concrete pipeline, 1600mm to 1200mm dia., 25 No. manholes, 140m of pipe jacking, outfall structure and stormwater treatment structure

- 300m of 1200mm dia RCRRJ Pipes
- 170m of RCRRJ Pipes ranging from 225mm to 900mm dia

- 200m of wellpointing for dewatering of trenches and thrust sections

- 25 manholes ranging in size from 1200mm dia to 2300mm dia
- Outfall Structure beneath the Wharf - 5.5 m3 of concrete
- Stormwater Treatment Defender Structure 6m deep requiring sheetpiling and dewatering Pavement & Surfacing
Reinstatement : $330,000
- 140m of Pipeline located in Port of Tauranga property required 500mm thick basecourse, single coat waterproofing seal and 80mm thick asphaltic concrete
- 1140m of Pipeline located in roadways required 500mm thick basecourse, single coat water proofing seal and 40mm thick asphaltic concrete
Other Features
- Pipeline passed along busy Industrial Roadway with extensive services at major intersections
- Work in these areas was carried out at nights and at weekends to reduce disruption to traffic in the Mt Maunganui area
- Water table varied with tides up to 1 metre above invert requiring extensive wellpointing
Environmental
Required to provide sediment control measures for stormwater run off and wellpointing to avoid polluting existing waterways and pipelines.
