A combined Stormwater and Sewer infrastructure upgrade project between Watercare Services Ltd, Papakura District Council and a private developer to facilitate the subdivision of the Takanini Racecourse area.

Work scope:

  • 925 x 2.55m dia stormwater pipe 7m deep
  • 124m x 2.00 dia stormwater pipe 7m deep
  • 2746m x .525m dia sewer pipe almost 7m deep
  • 85m x 2m dia stormwater pipe jack under houses and railway
  • 167m x 1.05m dia sewer pipe jack to coast and under railway
  • 18m suspended.508m suspended coastal CLS pipe
  • Deep manholes · Major insitu deep concrete manhole structures
  • 2 No. Mega pits · Reinstatement of large gardens and an entire 7000m2 reserve to a higher standard than pre-construction
  • Insitu manhole interceptor and connection to main trunk sewer line in mangrove swamp. Accessed only at low tide
  • Insitu wing wall structure and surge pool in edge of mangrove swamp. Built during low tide

The installation of the pipes was often threaded through very dense existing services that had to remain uninterrupted
