Electrical
Full electrical refurbishment of the Pump Station including design, supply and installation of new switchboard and modifications to existing switchboard. Supply and installation of instrumentation, cabling and fittings.
Mechanical
Installation of three new raw sewage pumps and associated cooling water system. Fabrication and staged replacement of pipe work and structural steelwork throughout Pump Station dry well.
Civil
Reinstatement of the settled sewage channel at the Plant’s Contact Stabilisation Tank. Successfully completed all work whilst maintaining the tank’s operational status.
Commissioning
Responsibilities included the overall commissioning of each part of the Raw Sewage Pumping Station as it was brought back on line, and for the completed system, including interfacing (via temporary works) with other new and existing parts of the pumping system.
Environmental
Careful attention to environmental management was essential for this project to ensure raw sewage did not overflow any part of the effluent collection network.
Features
- Provision of carefully planned and executed temporary works and bypass mechanisms were required to allow uninterrupted operation of the pump station at all times throughout the duration of the project.
- Varied methods of sewage isolations were successfully employed in order to undertake critical works activities.
