To provide a twin track rail system below street level in Auckland's New Lynn suburb Brian Perry Civil has constructed diaphragm walls.
In a rail corridor, for a length of almost one kilometre, we have to built two diaphragm walls on either side of the trench while sharing the corridor with a live train service and station. Also part of the Brian Perry Civil package on this Joint Venture project with Fletcher Engineering are two rows of tension piles at 7m centre, driven H piles and the civil works around the capping beams.
Despite the challenging working environment on a very confined site the project is still on programme and the project team has another 15 months to open the twin lines and complete the largest of the current Ontrack projects.
