Brian Perry Civil, McConnell Dowell and Multi Civil Contractors have been named winners in the 2008 New Zealand Contractor's Federation Hirepool Construction Awards.
Brian Perry Civil won both categories two and three (for projects between $500,000 and $5 million and $5 million to $20 million).
The category two award was for construction of a secant pile wall for the new Deloittes Centre in Auckland, the first time the technique had been used on this scale by a New Zealand company.
Challenges included a century-old buried wall from Auckland's original waterfront, discovered beneath the site.
Derek Bilby, Wellington Manager of Brian Perry Civil said the team had worked closely with architects, landscape architects and engineers.
"We all shared the same passion for delivering a project that will be enjoyed by many locals and visitors to Wellington. We know it will stand the test of time," he said.
